Cook Engineering in Northern California has a well-deserved reputation for cultivating a strong team spirit among our estimators, project managers, site supervisors, equipment operators, laborers, and office staff. The members of Team Cook take great pride in working together to create innovative, effective solutions for our clients while maintaining the utmost in safety standards.
The members of our site crew and office staff all felt drawn to this industry. They know they are contributing to a proud legacy. They take part daily in the building of America, which greatly enriches their lives. The work is physically and mentally demanding, but at the same time intellectually energizing, and they love it.
All of our field and shop employees are safety-certified. Our managers, supervisors and workers undergo recurrent training in OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour safety courses, first aid and CPR, confined-space training, soil erosion and sedimentation control, and other programs. InterWest Insurance Services, Owen-Dunn Insurance Services and the Asphalt Surface Development Association have presented Cook Engineering with numerous awards in recognition of our comprehensive employee and job safety programs and professional best practices.
Our employees remain with us because in our merit shop, we have established a work environment that enables them to grow and learn as individuals. Sean Cook
President
A strong work ethic and a potent sense of pragmatism and innovative thinking were instilled in Sean at a young age as he grew up on a working ranch. Inquisitiveness to find better, more efficient and economical ways to resolve problems, and satisfaction in accomplishing goals, became a way of life for Sean. He has applied his out-of-the-box approach to more than two decades of wide-ranging experience that he amassed in project engineering, beginning with a large general engineering firm. He oversees our master production schedule and coordinates the activities of our field superintendents, and additionally has a hand in estimating, sales, and compliance with government regulations. And he’s ready and available to discuss how we can fulfill your needs. He and co-owner Shellie Cook energetically inspire the enthusiastic, collaborative tone that characterizes Cook Engineering.

With Shellie’s education and years of experience in other industries, she has been able to apply her knowledge and expertise of PR and marketing strategies into the development of a professional and family oriented business. Shellie believes that creative marketing and building strong relationships is the foundation of Cook Engineering’s success.

Michelle Carroll
Office Manager
Loyal and longtime employee Michelle Carroll, a valued member of the team since 2004, coordinates several vital functions, including labor regulatory compliance documentation, payroll, vendor project insurance certificates, and employee benefits. She also works with accounts payable. Equally experienced in new employee orientation and coordinating events, she contributes strongly to our sense of team spirit and family atmosphere.

Tiffany Lopes
Accounts Payable
As our newest member, Tiffany Lopes joined the Cook Team in October of 2019. She brings honesty, loyalty, and an abundance of industry experience in running our front office and accounts payables. Her “We make it happen” attitude on the phone makes her a great place to start your experience with Cook Engineering.

Mike Haire
Project Superintendent
After joining Cook Engineering in 2011 as an operating foreman, a position in which he excelled, Mike Haire earned his promotion to Project Superintendent. In that leadership role, he coordinates and supervises our foremen, on-site subcontractor functions, field personnel, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, change orders, and other technical and personnel activities on construction project sites. With a keen eye on budget and schedule guidelines, he offers technical assistance when needed to our employees and subcontractors.

Shawn Scott
Chief Estimator And Project Manager
As our chief estimator since 2010, Shawn Scott enables us to respond promptly and comprehensively to requests for quotations and other bid submissions. His drive, work ethic and pride in what he produces makes his ability for creating budgets, accurate takeoffs, estimates and seeing the projects through completion his number one asset to our customers.
